Project Location

Welcome to Mitchell, Ontario

Nestled where the gentle banks of the historic Thames River meet the crossroads of Highway 23 and Highway 8, Mitchell is a bustling town at the centre of the Municipality of West Perth. Mitchell offers the best of both worlds, the charm and pace of small-town living with easy access to major urban centres. Just 20 minutes from Stratford, an hour from London, and within comfortable driving distance of Kitchener-Waterloo and Toronto, Mitchell is ideally positioned for those who want to escape the city without ever feeling far from it. Whether you're commuting, running errands, or heading out for a night on the town, everything you need is always within reach.

Mitchell is a wonderful town for outdoor enthusiasts.

The West Perth Thames Nature Trail is one of Perth County's finest, running for 10 kilometres along the scenic Thames River through forests, wetlands, and past a dam, a great spot to observe a wide variety of bird species. The trail system accommodates all ages and skill levels, offering fitness and photography opportunities alike.

The West Perth Wetlands are 65 acres of rehabilitated wetlands, mowed walking trails, and a hotspot for migratory birds, popular with birdwatchers from across Ontario and the U.S.

Lions Park is a beloved local park with river access for fishing, canoeing and kayaking. In winter, the hill transforms into a popular toboggan run for families.

The Sawyer Preservation Woodlot, created by Otis Sawyer, offers 28 acres with two higher-ground trails available year-round and two lower trails for seasonal exploration.

Local Amenities

Established in 1930, Mitchell Golf & Country Club has been a cornerstone of the local community for nearly a century. Originally designed as a 9-hole course, MGCC provided golfers in Mitchell and the surrounding area with an accessible and welcoming place to enjoy the game. As the club continued to grow, a major milestone came in 1994 with the addition of the back nine, transforming MGCC into the full 18-hole experience it is today.

Rooted in tradition yet focused on the future, MGCC has evolved into more than just a golf course—it’s a hub for sport, community, and connection.

Set in the heart of Southwestern Ontario, MGCC offers a layout that is both enjoyable for beginners and rewarding for experienced players. The course blends mature landscapes with a walkable design, creating a relaxed but engaging round for golfers of all skill levels.

A town that celebrates

Mitchell's community spirit comes alive throughout the year with beloved local traditions and festivals like

Mitchell Fall Fair
A tradition since 1854 — livestock shows, homecraft exhibits, and fairground rides at the Mitchell & District Agricultural Society Fairgrounds.

Tailgate Music Festival
A two-day outdoor music weekend held each September at Keterson Park — Rock on Friday, Country on Saturday. Featuring top Canadian acts like the James Barker Band, it's a true small-town festival experience that also raises funds for the West Perth Village Seniors' Community.

 Cornfest Slo-Pitch Tournament
One of Ontario's most beloved slo-pitch tournaments, held every third weekend of August by the Mitchell Grizzlies. Running since 1977, this community staple draws nearly 60 teams across men's and ladies divisions, with proceeds going back into local sports and community facilities.
